Providenciales, Turks & Caicos Islands, Thursday, May 5, 2011 - PPC Ltd. continues their drive to preserve the TCI's environment by reducing waste as part of their ongoing environmental campaign.
The team collectively decided to donate some of the old cable reels to Mills Institute as additional outdoor furniture for their already eye catching playground. To give a more attractive and fun look to the reels while keeping in line with the theme colour of the school, staff members of the utility company planned a community project where they added a splash of colour to the reels before presenting them. Red and yellow reels now brighten up the play area, and provide additional seating for the students during lunch and recreation periods.
PPC's Environmental and Safety Specialist, Eustace Musgrove, commented that, "We were more than delighted to assist Mills Institute by recycling and donating our cable reels. PPC remains committed to being environmentally friendly and encourage others to join in. We now recognise this institution as one of our partners in environmental protection as they embrace the idea of reducing and reusing for the sake of a greener TCI. This gesture not only allows PPC to continue its environmental campaign by recycling the reels, but also affords us the opportunity to support our schools."
