Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands (Tuesday, December 21, 2021) – FortisTCI is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Nikira John-Durham as Director of Corporate Communications, Brand Development and Marketing.
Mrs. John-Durham is a native of the Turks and Caicos Islands with over ten years of experience in the communications industry. Her career started in broadcast journalism where she worked as a lead news anchor for several years. She pivoted to the local health care sector in 2016 as Public Relations and Marketing Manager for InterHealth Canada TCI Ltd and was later promoted to the company’s senior management team with an expanded portfolio.
She has designed and implemented several corporate communication plans with comprehensive strategies that have yielded positive stakeholder relations, strong brand positioning and community outreach. She also served as a crucial resource on several projects in health care management, including but not limited to service design, medical referrals management and international accreditation assessments. She is highly-passionate, proficient in various multimedia specialties and has strong strategic planning, critical thinking and leadership skills.
Mrs. John-Durham holds a Master of Science in Business with Marketing (Distinction) from the University of Essex and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, Media, and Journalism (First Class Honours) from the University of Buckingham, England. In her new role, she is responsible for outreach activities across all service territories. She is expected to build and deliver a communications plan that leads to long-term building encompassing public relations, social media, stakeholder relations, community engagement and content strategy. Mrs. John-Durham will also provide senior-level support and in some instances, lead the development and implementation of strategic matters including annual budgeting, staffing, training, plans related to multi-stakeholder corporate communications and crisis communications.
