Provo Power Company (PPC) Ltd. Takes Care of its Most Valuable Asset

Provo Power Company (PPC) Ltd. Takes Care of its Most Valuable Asset 06Jun 2008

Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands, June 6th, 2008 - PPC Ltd. has the corporate objective of being the employer of choice in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Guided by this goal, the company has initiated two projects geared towards developing employees' ability and providing appropriate remuneration that matches employees' accomplishments.
During April PPC began activities to commence its People's Strategy Plan and Hay Compensation and Job Evaluation System. Annette Butte, a Human Resource specialist within the Fortis Group, met with staff members to guide the development of the People's Strategy Document, which will ensure that the Company's benefit structure remains competitive and improve its ability to effectively match scholarship, training, and apprenticeship programs with employees.
Another specialist, Mike Wilson, a Hay facilitator, was also on hand to guide employees in the development of a Hay system, which is an extensively used system for job measurement worldwide. The development and use of this system at PPC will result in better internal fairness with regards to remuneration and set the foundation for, the development of PPC's human resource "capital".  According to CEO Powell "the successful implementation of these two HR projects is key to achieving PPC's vision of becoming "A World Class Electricity Company and a Center for Excellence."
